Am i there?

It is 8:20 PM IST on a friday , my phone just got discharged completely and i don't have any zoom meetings till the next 40 minutes. So my anxiety made me think how to spend these 40 minutes, the only resort i found was my laptop and i turned into my blogger account, and i just realized i haven't posted anything since 5 years , yes 5 long Years.  My last post was published on July 16,2015. Out of nostalgia i read few of my posts which i didn't even recalled writing. Well there were some lines which i realized were not that bad but surely there were some cliches too. Started typing out of curiosity to check if i still have that which takes to write. Definitely the words are not coming that easily (an honest realization).  So i will try and recall what all things have changed for me between my last post on July 2015 and today. Here comes the darn list The sweetest change, I am a father now. I have a 3 and a half year old daughter (Read : Chatter box). Learning a lot of new th...

GOING AHEAD VS GETTING DRAGGED BACKWARDS

Blog post for Official Graphic Era University Blog http://geu.ac.in/blog/going-ahead-vs-getting-dragged-backwards/ There is always one or the other thing which is there in trend and often becomes a cliche. One of those things is the ability on FB to let people know what’s on your mind or where you are or what you are doing at the very moment. Some people are so fond of it that you can even track their location throughout the week. Recently I saw one such post from friend saying “Chilling at – The Walkway”.  For reference of all you people “The Walkway” is a recently built Shopping Mall in my hometown. Well,  I would surely love  to use the word CITY for the place now, as it is surely taking big strides to become so. Every time I enter my hometown there would be something new which would make me say ” Ab ye kab ban gaya ” (Now when did this get constructed) 5 Years back there were these small town markets which were the only places we relied on for anything w...

Don't Judge

Image
Blog post for Official Graphic Era University Blog http://geu.ac.in/blog/dont-judge/ The Cricket World Cup is on and you would see cricket everywhere. The newspapers, the television everything is breathing cricket these days. As usual my timeline on Facebook was cluttered with all the stuff that people shared, liked etc.  Just then there popped up a video of one of the cricketer speaking in absurd English amidst a press conference. Well, it was not the first time that I was watching that video but seeing it again somehow I felt a bit sad. The foremost thing which made me feel a bit gloomy was that the cricketer was being judged for something which had nothing to do with the reason he was there for. If you would actually judge him for the reason why he is sitting there (Read: Cricket) then at that moment, he was a superstar. But sadly after a great day at field he was looking so nervous, blurting out the words in a foreign language in front of thousands of people from wh...

A TYPICAL INDIAN CRICKET FAN

B log post for Graphic Era University Official Blog http://geu.ac.in/blog/a-typical-indian-cricket-fan/ Well if one has followed Indian cricket ever, then he/she must be aware of one of the integral part of it i.e. the temperamental Indian cricket fan. Throughout the cricket calendar year he seldom keeps mum. There is one or the other thing happening around the team which keeps him engaged. Below are a few: When Virat Kohli is scoring runs and piling on the centuries, then he is said to be synonymous to SRT and the coolest batsman around, now there comes a failure in the England tour and the fan starts seeing technical glitches in his batting. The brutal Viru faced repeated failures and everybody wanted him to be replaced, Shikhar Dhawan comes up and succeeds. Now few matches and Dhawan starts failing too! There is hue and cry that Viru should be the opening batsman in the World Cup. It’s been years since Rohit Sharma was trying to prove his hidden talent which seemed ...

HUMANITY!!

B log post for Graphic Era University Official Blog http://geu.ac.in/blog/humanity/ Suddenly everyone stopped on a busy highway to let a small puppy cross the road and I knew humanity is alive. The small kid seemed lost, it was a long day for him being there at the railway station stairs and then a girl came by and spent her few minutes smiling and talking with him and the kid was cheerful again, and I knew humanity is alive. The luggage was too heavy for her; those old shoulders couldn’t bear this weight any more. Then he came by and took the bag from her and helped her into her compartment, her “long live beta” had all the love and affection and I knew humanity is alive. The sirens were blaring all around. The ambulance was in a real rush; he stranded his vehicle in a corner and helped the ambulance cross the busy street and I knew humanity is alive. He was all tired and his old legs couldn’t bear much of his load now, as he entered an overcrowded metro,; somewhere from...

LEST WE FORGET 26/11, LEST WE FORGET THE MARTYRS

Blog post for Graphic Era University Official Blog http://geu.ac.in/blog/lest-we-forget-2611-lest-we-forget-the-martyrs/ Diwali is one of my favorite festivals, I really enjoy being with my close ones within the illuminated world on this day. However the thing which I don’t like much about Diwali is bursting of the crackers and all that noise. If I remember aptly, it has been over a decade since I have shunned bursting crackers. Even few of my closest mates have stopped doing so. Well, this Diwali was however a bit different as I was at my sister’s place and for the sake of my niece I had to get into burning a few. Though one day when she will grow up, I hope that she would also join me in the crusade of no noise and air pollution. (Ahh the word crusade makes it sound as if I am into a mission). While burning the crackers one of them hurled towards me but thankfully I was quick enough to run away from it! At last even though it was all lost out in laughter, it did make me t...

Giving it Back !!

Blog Entry for  the Graphic Era University Official Blog http://geu.ac.in/blog/giving-it-back/ What’s the plan mate? My friend asked me after he had wished me a happy birthday. I wasn’t sure but a party was surely on my list. Even if I don’t do anything lavish still spending few grands over a birthday would be customary. Few months later it was the birthday of one of my manager at my office. After I had wished him I too asked “What’s your plan for today?” what he replied made a sweet and everlasting impression on my mind. It was years since he had started to celebrate his day in a very unique way. His family along with him visits any of the orphanages nearby on each of his birthday. He does all his celebrations at the orphanage itself, has the cake with the kids and shares a meal with them. Like everyone he also knows that this would change anything in the life of those kids, but it will surely give the kids a thing which they often feel short of, a smile on their fac...

DONATE BLOOD…BE A PART OF THE NOBLE DEED!

Another blog entry for the Graphic Era University Official Blog http://geu.ac.in/blog/donate-blood-be-a-part-of-the-noble-deed/ Holiday season is always such a bliss and being in office after that is always so painful. Well, the diwali vacations are over, all the celebrations are now some sweet memories from the past which have been well captured in our hearts and digi-cams. For the sake of sanity, routine life had to be back in action and it was, but with a bang! Like always, today morning I was travelling to my office in the office cab when suddenly something woke me up and helped my morning to not be a somber one. It was an advertisement regarding blood donation being aired in one of the FM channel. In the advertisement, a little girl thanks some random guy for donating blood to her. The guy emphasizes that he is not the one who has donated blood to her. Hearing this, the girl comes up with a beautiful statement, she says that she is suffering from Thalassemia and is reg...

Happy Teachers Day !!!

Wrote this for Graphic Era University Official Blog :   http://geu.ac.in/blog/happy-teachers-day/#more-53 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ My sister recently visited my place for a vacation. Amidst all the things which kept me busy the thing which took the major chunk of my time was teaching my niece. And you should believe that it was never an easygoing thing. It was hard to make her believe that a 2 + 2 is 4. With all my wisdom and experience i thought of a realistic example and asked her if you have 2 toffees and you get another 2 from me how much would you have? But she was like “Only 2 toffees, nooo i need a dairy milk and a kinder joy”. Somehow i made her believe that this was an example, and taught her the addition thing. But the entire day she sought after me for those extra toffees. Amidst all this hilarious stuff i realized that how difficult it is to teach a person or in other words how difficult it is to ma...

The War

He was all sweaty, sweat dripping from his forehead as if a tap was left open. His eyes were going red, he was breathing heavy. He folded his sleeves up. He was talking to himself. He was reciting his plan.his eyes were grounded. He knew he had all the wishes backing him up. He looked up, there were another few rushing up towards him, eyes in eyes with a formidable glare. He too returned  the pleasantries. He shouldered them, shrugged them. Rushed through them. He felt as if he was scratched at his arms. He prayed, he thought about all the good time he had spent. And finally the struggle he went through reaped him fruits. He got what he was fighting for. The ultimate prize. A seat in the DELHI METRO.Now he could breathe in the cool air flowing through the AC Vents. As he sat ,there were envious eyes looking at him cursing him for the good luck he had got. And he was all smiles for the luck he was going through. P.S : This post is dedicated to all the Daily commuters of Delhi Metro....

Ideologies !!!

Whom should i vote for? This is the biggest chaos my mind has been dealing for months, since the inception of the nationwide elections. And one of the worst nightmares these elections have brought is that my Facebook time line is flocked with promotional videos , pictures of various political parties. Now i hardly see any pictures of my friends getting married, no posts telling the  place where they are dining and with whom, which movie they are in, no posts telling they are feeling happy, Sad , irritated. If i look into one perspective of this,it really speaks that the country is getting a bit more involved into things of real concern i.e. the national politics. But the other perspective really makes me sick, the way few of my friends are endorsing the political leaders of their choice. Some of them simply seem rude and offensive. Even i have seen comments where a person feels that the different choices of political parties might also lead to ruin their friendship. I don't feel t...

The Gladiator !!

Sachin Tendulkar,Brian lara,Ricky ponting,Jacques kallis, kumar sangakara, inzamam. What is that which strikes our mind when we talk about these bunch of guys. They all were the most premier batsmen of the modern era. Apart from these greats we had greats in the bowling arena too. Bowlers like waqar, akram, akhtar,Mcgrath,War ne,Lee,Gillespie, muralitharan, vans, ambrose,Walsh,Donald, stey n ,pollock were always there to terrorise the batsmen and make their feet dwindle. But apart from Tendulkar each of the batsmen was fortunate enough to avoid facing atleast few of the bowlers, reason they were team mates. Like ponting was fortunate enough to never face the spinning mysteries of Warne, nor the dead accurate deliveries of Mcgrath and Co with almost the whole team standing at slip cordon. Likewise inzi never had to face the fierce toe breaking yorkers from waqar, nor the reverse swing from wasim which bent like a banana, and the maniac pace from the rawalpindi express. Lara never had to spent s...

Yuvi..

It was a one month long hysteria which concluded with India getting thumped by Sri Lanka in the world T20 finale. Surely it was not a great news for any of the cricket fans in India. So it ought to have reactions. But reactions to that extent that one makes personal attacks to one of the greatest match winners of all time. Our own Yuvi i.e. Yuvraj Singh. Even in my Facebook timeline I could see people going berserk over the innings Yuvraj played in the finale. Few people even called him a moron which wasn't justifiable. The thing i could get out from this was that anybody who ever had played any form of cricket didn't blamed yuvi for the innings. Yes everyone might be disappointed. But What was it that those people didn’t blamed Yuvi for the loss. The reason was that those people could see the world from Yuvi’s eyes. They knew that anybody can have an off day at the field. They even had their share of off days. The gist is that they tried to be in Yuvi's shoes...

Yaari

I could had walked alone and could had gone faster, But i held you hand and we reached there late. But i don't repent. I could had not waited for you , But i waited for you and i missed the first half of my favorite movie. But i don't repent. I could had spent the day as per my plan, But i did what you thought we should do. But i don't repent. I could had studied a bit more, but i went with you on a evening stroll. But i don't repent. I could had done something which i knew was absolutely correct, But i did something which you thought was absurd but was worth exploring. But i don't repent. I could had slept till noon on a weekend morning, But i woke up early because you had again had caught the fever of playing early morning cricket. But i don't repent. I could had bought that favorite jacket of mine , but instead i bought one that you thought was cool. But i don't repent. Kudos to the numerous things which we do for our friends and for the strong ...

The Transition !!

I have recently got married and i am about to turn 29 . These facts really make me feel old. Though i am trying hard to never look like that. Our lunch sessions in office often turn out to be discussion forums on various things around us. AAP and Arvind Kejriwal were the two recent things which got the most of the share of the forum. One fine day the discussion started if each of us remembers how many cell phones we have bought/used till date. 4 was my number. Some had a hysteric 28 as the number. Then the things turned to the period when cell phones didn't existed. Then we visited the period when we had either no or small screen black n white televisions at our place, the period when cricket was synonymous to Tendulkar. That time we didn't had any DTH neither any cable connections.Often the overseas cricket match results could only be heard on the news. Doordarshan was the sole thing which kept the mundane black n white ( Read : calm ) life moving. Now we can switch ...

Dilemma !!!

It was a perfect saturday eve with an overcast sky with a cool breeze.I was walking up the stairs of the metro station with earphones plugged in my ears, with one of my fav track "Zinda" played on them. Suddenly something clinged onto my feet. Before i could grumble on what it was , i saw a kid there holding my feet. A sweet little kid with golden hair and no he was not blonde it was just the lack of oiling which had made them so. He surely didn't had a bath from weeks but still he looked cute.He was there to ask for some money,i won't say that he was begging rather he was made to beg. Because such a small kid won't know anything about money. At most if he wants ,he could ask for the cold drink bottle i had in my hand , something to eat or some other random stuff. I just smiled and said "Leave me beta" and walked ahead. But as if he was trained that if somebody smiles then he is a probable who would surely shell out few bucks from his pocket, he just...

Religion less..

A world so free that i can fly like a bird. Travel like air, love like god. Care like a mother.. Words so innocent that they can't even pierce the air, Faith so strong that i don't doubt somebody else's. Learning so pure so it couldn't be condemned or doubted.. Smile so intoxicating that i can make a heartbroken fellow smile. A walk so swift that i don't fear to be left alone. A speech so true that it could inspire humanity. Deeds so pure that they could be repeated. A Life so meaningful that i could conclude that i actually lived and existed. ------------- Humanity is the biggest gift that the race living on the planet earth has ever got. But to keep up with this is a task which requires umpteen skills. This world has always depicted great examples of apathy, but likewise there have been stains on this bright sky of humanity. The "Holocaust" is one of the clear examples of this in-humanity, 60 million Jews were tortured , made devoid...

The World beyond Reality..

It was year and a half, and he could even count the days since the last time he saw her.But he could still hear her voice echo in his ears, could feel that soft touch of her. He didn't ever cared if she was beautiful or not. Only thing he knew was that she was one of the reasons for him to breathe. There were days when his days started with her and often used to end seeing her smile. But now all those were memories ,he even had started to blur her down in his memory lane , but as rightly said the more you try to run away from something the more it comes back to you. -- It was one of the fine sunday noon, he saw somebody that made him go weak down at the knees. She was walking towards him waving her hands with the same adorable smile as ever. He forgot to blink, even forgot to breathe for a moment. She stopped and stood right in front of him. A moment of silence and awkwardness was surrounding the place. Finally She Spoke "I Knew you won't even say a hello!! , You...

Trade-off of Desires

I run for the Sun, I miss the shade.. I urge for silence, I miss the noise.. I Pray for solitude, I miss the chaos.. I search for a shelter , i miss getting wet in the rain. All these line perfectly depict one of the most complicated things in the galaxy i.e. Human Desires and their fulfillment. One of the most true things is that how much you work for a things fulfillment, there would always be a desire still unfulfilled. Life is just a bucket in which you cannot fill everything you ever dreamt of. You often have to let many of things just go by. Be it the Bike you often dreamt of as a teenager, be it the girl who just sits paces ahead of you in the classroom who never gives a damn about you, be it the dream of being a cricketer. There are always dreams that are not always fulfilled. Well i am not courting to not work hard for you dreams, but the gist here is that Shattered dreams are always a thing to get sad on to have few sad months but not a spoiled life. Look ahead in...

No More a Kid..

Damnn yet another gadget launched this week and yet again i will dream to have it in my hands. Branded Shoes , Nice clothes , Nice places to dine at are things which surely are part of our lifestyle nowadays. Thats why i say Yes i am Materialistic. I still clearly remember i was not like this when i was kid. I always loved cricket more than most of the things on the planet. As a kid i didn't needed anything else than a nice cricket bat to play with and news that SRT yet again scored a century. I still remember i had millions of tantrums in regards to food when i was a kid, but if it was a good day at cricket pitch for me then anything sufficed , even i could have "Tinda" that day. For people who don't know what a Tinda is then you surely are one of the luckiest people on the planet, to introduce Tinda it is the worst Vegetable Mankind has ever seen. Well coming back to the stream, I still remember i used to wear clothes that my parents bought for me , and i...
