A TYPICAL INDIAN CRICKET FAN

Well if one has followed Indian cricket ever, then he/she must be aware of one of the integral part of it i.e. the temperamental Indian cricket fan.
Throughout the cricket calendar year he seldom keeps mum. There is one or the other thing happening around the team which keeps him engaged. Below are a few:
  1. When Virat Kohli is scoring runs and piling on the centuries, then he is said to be synonymous to SRT and the coolest batsman around, now there comes a failure in the England tour and the fan starts seeing technical glitches in his batting.
  1. The brutal Viru faced repeated failures and everybody wanted him to be replaced, Shikhar Dhawan comes up and succeeds. Now few matches and Dhawan starts failing too! There is hue and cry that Viru should be the opening batsman in the World Cup.
  1. It’s been years since Rohit Sharma was trying to prove his hidden talent which seemed like everybody except him was aware of, but soon the fans wanted him out of the team. Then one fine day he comes up with an odi double century and now his absence is often marked as the reason for India’s defeat.
  1. MS Dhoni, one of the finest Indian captains had been failing in overseas test matches since years and this fan rises up again saying that he has not got the technique to play the longer format, Then one fine day Dhoni realizes it too and declares his retirement from the tests, now as per the fan he is somebody who is running from his responsibilities!
  1. Ishant Sharma is one of the biggest victims. He goes on and bowls one of the worst spell of ODI bowling against Australia at Mohali (Yes you are right I am talking about the Faulkner – Sharma 30 runs in an over showdown) and he is trolled like anything.
           Now the same Ishant Sharma gets injured just before the World Cup and this fan already starts              missing him And his absence might be termed as one of the reason for losing, if the team                      somehow misses on the Cup.
  1. One of the cricket’s biggest match winners slogs on and on and piles on trophies for the nation, a day he is a bit out of sorts and fails, he is almost crucified for that! And yes, he would surely be one of the players whom the team would be missing the most in the forthcoming World Cup. Hope I don’t have to name him.

Here are also a few of the weirdest things that I have heard or have been constantly hearing since ages:
  1. “If the match goes on to wire, then the one batsman who I don’t want to see at the crease is MS Dhoni”. When I heard this, I literally had to confirm if I was hearing it right.
  1. “MS Dhoni is all what he is because of his good luck”. Yes and every time he swings his bat to hit that monstrous six that is just because of his good fortune. Probably a string wind came by and swung his bat like that!
  1. “India wins matches at home because of the flat tracks!” Is the opposition not made to bat on the same track? and mind it Indian bowlers are often not that good! Come on guys, give credit wherever it is applicable. Indian batsmen are often the best.
  1. “Every time Tendulkar scored a century the team lost”, Well I have got tired arguing on this one and have come to terms with it.

Also just for FYI in 2008, India won 5 ODI finals and SRT scored a century in all of these. Isn't it a feat?
P.S: Well the only thing I want to emphasize on is that the cricketers too are humans and they too do not want to lose. The below lines sums it all
