Dilemma !!!
It was a perfect saturday eve with an overcast sky with a cool breeze.I was walking up the stairs of the metro station with earphones plugged in my ears, with one of my fav track "Zinda" played on them.
Suddenly something clinged onto my feet. Before i could grumble on what it was , i saw a kid there holding my feet. A sweet little kid with golden hair and no he was not blonde it was just the lack of oiling which had made them so. He surely didn't had a bath from weeks but still he looked cute.He was there to ask for some money,i won't say that he was begging rather he was made to beg. Because such a small kid won't know anything about money. At most if he wants ,he could ask for the cold drink bottle i had in my hand , something to eat or some other random stuff.
I just smiled and said "Leave me beta" and walked ahead. But as if he was trained that if somebody smiles then he is a probable who would surely shell out few bucks from his pocket, he just held on to my feet with more grit.
I just stopped looked at the kid and yet again i was entangled into one of a perfect indian social dilemma.
What should i do? He was almost crying. I could drop few coins on his hand and just walk off. But i didn't felt it right because money wasn't what the kid needed.
We always have a strong belief that if somebody begs for some money, we should tell him to earn it on his own. But what should one do with a kid, how could i tell him to work and earn.
Meanwhile the kid was still staring at me. Finally i gave up i just headed towards one of the snacks counter at the station and bought a Sandwich for him. I handed it over to him and another 10 rs, He held the sandwich in his right hand and the money in his left. As i left and turned back to see him. He hardly cared for the money. He wasn't even looking at the money, He was busy eating with that sweet smile on his face.
