Those 13 days of hope ,R.I.P Bravo

She was just 23, she came to the capital with dreams in her mind, she wanted to learn wanted to be something for her family for herself.

But fate has something else for her.She was raped and brutally assaulted in the city the capital city of the nation , where all the traffic is stopped when a single politician passes by. In the same city ad mist the same people the same police she was raped in a moving bus and that too in the most prominent areas of the city.

Reading about whatever she had gone through really made me shiver. Once i read that somehow she managed to scribble something on a paper and " I want to live " was what she wrote.

We cannot imagine how painful would it be lying in a bed knowing that you might die, that you may no longer see you family , no longer hear your loved ones talk , no longer hear them calling you , no longer work to make your dreams come true . She went through all this.

I would like to merely relate this incident to one of the things that recently happened in U.S.A, students were shot in a school. The U.S president Mr. Barrack Obama was immediately there to address the nation. And the tears really seemed true.

Something happens in India and there was nobody to speak , only letters were exchanged and that also nobody saw, we were just told that it happened. But still no qualms about this because we didn't expected anything better than this from these people.

However i am not moving the blame entirely to the incompetent politicians , the ruling people. Partially the responsibility the blame lies with us , the citizens of India.

I too have passed by situations where some injustice is done and i too just passed by. Because i too have the same thoughts " Mind your own business".

We need to understand that acting against an injustice being done should be one of our business. We cannot just shut up and expect that somebody stands for us when we are at the receiving end.

This incident also bring different cruel facets of our cold inhuman society upfront. There were voices saying that Why was she out of her place at that time of the day. A simple question to those people what would it be if it would had been their daughter or sister. Will they still make this stupid remark.

Actually from whatever i have seen in my life till date i feel we need to introspect this male dominant society. Still if people see a girl in short dresses, smoking , partying, hanging out with boys the first thing they think is " Man, she is a easy trap " .
Come on people she too has a life she can do whatever she feels is right for her , whatever she enjoys.

I have seen moments in life where you need to stand there in the hospitals when someone from you family is lying in, fighting for life. My thoughts go out for her family, what all they might be going through. Each and every moment passed there bites.

There were news all around that she is fighting for her life , that she has set an example. She wasn't trying to portray anything. The only thing she wanted was " To Live " , to see the places she had never seen, to laugh , talk about the good times she had ,She wanted to be with her friends , she wanted to have her career, her family..

Through these 13 days whenever i read about her health progressions i somewhere had a hope that She might heal , might recover. Truly i wanted her to see this world again, along with a sense of frustration that we couldn't do anything for her.

But fate won. It's just not end of a person, it's tearing down of hundreds of dreams , and end to a valiant fight against injustice...R.I.P Bravo..

P.S : I am not very proud to be an Indian after all this.If nothing ever such happen again then only i would call myself a Proud Indian Citizen.
